Who we are
Mr. Shea founded MedAssist in 1989 and has been the driving force behind the vision and growth of the company. His vision of "Bridging the Gap" between health care delivery and reimbursement, with a focus on patient advocacy, helped pioneer the acceptance of eligibility outsourcing nationally. After attending Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, he relocated to Louisville, Kentucky where Mr. Shea became active in many healthcare organizations, not-for profit arenas and the HFMA. Today he is responsible for the strategic plan of MedAssist, which includes all product lines, key personnel and overall direction for the Company, and has built a very successful team of professionals who remain dedicated to achieving MedAssist's Mission. In 2003, Mr. Shea was the recipient of the Ernst & Young Midwest Entrepreneur of the year award for Healthcare.
