MEDASSIST COMPLETES GENERAL SERVICE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ADMINSTRATION REGISTRATION
Registration Enables MedAssist to Provide the Government with Revenue Cycle Management Services
Louisville, Ky. - August 12, 2009 - MedAssist, Incorporated, a Firstsource company and leader in revenue cycle management solutions, announced today the company has completed its registration with the U.S. General Service Administration (GSA), which allows MedAssist to provide service contracts to federal, state and local governments. The GSA promotes management best practices and efficient government operations through its registration process, which provides government agencies access to a list of pre-approved providers of supplies and services.
MedAssist's successful track record of providing revenue cycle management solutions to more than 1,000 healthcare providers nationwide will now be available to all government entities with access to the GSA list of pre-approved providers.
"The Veterans' Administration is already the largest healthcare provider in the U.S. Amid pending healthcare reform, it's possible that the federal government could soon become the largest provider," said Michael Shea, president of global healthcare solutions and CEO of North America for MedAssist. "The ability for government operated healthcare providers to partners with an organization that holds this status will be vital as they seek to streamline revenue cycle management, treat patients with the utmost care and maximize effectiveness in operations."
The GSA is a U.S. federal government agency that assists with procurement for other government or government-funded bodies. The GSA maintains a database of pre-negotiated contracts, which lifts the burden of negotiating contracts and forming legal agreements with each and every government agency.
