Patient Access representatives pre-register patients for hospital services. They contact patients by telephone, update their demographic information and gather their current health insurance information. They contact the insurance carriers to verify and pre-certify their benefits as well. This is a call-center position. Healthcare admissions/registration experience is helpful, background with insurance verifications and pre-certifications is a plus, and applicants must have strong communication skills.
